> The Supervisory Board of the Generali Group in Poland companies appoints a new Chairman of the Management Board
In line with previous announcements, as of December 5th 2007, the Supervisory Board of Polish companies of the Generali Group appointed Mr. Andrzej Jarczyk as the Chairman of the Management Board. The appointment shall be effective, after approval of the Commission for Financial Supervision (CFS).
During the meeting held on December 5th , 2007, the Supervisory Board of the Generali Group Polish companies appointed Mr. Andrzej Jarczyk as the Chairman of the Management Board of the following companies:
- Generali T.U. S.A. operating in the property insurance market; and
- Generali Życie T.U. S.A. operating in the life insurance market.
Mr. Erich Fisher, Chairman of the Management Board of the Generali Group Polish companies since 2003, resigned from his position.
Appointment of the new Chairman of the Management Board of the Generali Group in Poland shall be effective after Mr. Andrzej Jarczyk has been approved by the Commission for Financial Supervision.
The Supervisory Board of Generali has already taken steps in order to submit the relevant application and the required set of documents to the Commission for Financial Supervision.

Mr. Andrzej Jarczyk (born in 1969) graduated from the Management Faculty of the Academy of Economy in Katowice (1995). He also studied in the University in Bochum (specialization: enterprise management), and has graduated from the “Eurekans Management Development Program”, comprising international studies for the managers of Companies of the Eureko Group on international cooperation, fundamentals of finance, and project management. For the last 9 years, he has been linked, in the professional terms, with the PZU Group, (biggest insurance market player in Poland), including managerial positions in the branches of PZU (non-Life) and PZU Życie (life) companies. Since 2003, he has been the Director of the Sales Bureau at the Headquarters of PZU, where he was responsible for implementation of the firm’s sales policy to individual clients and the SME sector.
